Visit of IBC Delegation to the Embassy of Sri Lanka Headquarters in Jordan And meeting with Sri Lanka Ambassador to Jordan Mr. Abdullatif Latheer On Thursday July 20th 2017

Upon the invitation extended by the Sri Lankan Ambassador to Jordan Mr. Abdullatif Latheer, IBC Delegation including IBC Vice Chairman and Secretary General Mr. Saad Naji, IBC Board member Mr. Mekki Al-Faiz, IBC member Mr. Fakhri Rishan and IBC CEO visited on Thursday July 20th 2017 the Sri Lankan Embassy headquarters in Jordan and were received by the Sri Lankan Ambassador, the Sri Lankan Commercial Attaché and his assistance.

During the meeting the Sri Lankan Ambassador elaborated on his country’s interest in developing means of cooperation with the Iraqi investors and businessmen in Jordan and providing all facilities to those interested in investment and trade exchange with their Sri Lankan counterparts. The speech was followed by presentation of a documentary film about Sri Lanka, the natural resources it enjoys, its exceptional geographical location that facilitate trade and goods transport between the Asian and other world countries, and the main investment opportunities available especially in sectors of tourism, information technology, infrastructure, real estate development, agriculture (especially tea cultivation), jewelry manufacture and design. The documentary film also included prospects of economic growth in Sri Lanka till 2019, the key laws and legislations concerning investment and establishment of companies in Sri Lanka. At the end of the meeting members of IBC delegation presented the Sri Lankan Ambassador with IBC icon (the Sumerian tree of life) and expressed their appreciation for organizing this meeting and the exceptional reception. In turn, the Sri Lankan Ambassador promised to provide IBC members and their families with entry visas to Sri Lanka with special facilities for tourism purposes. He also expressed his readiness to organize a visit by a trade delegation to IBC members who are interested in establishing trade partnerships and identify the available investment opportunities in Sri Lanka.
